18 Maroo St Hughesdale

18 Maroo Street was a design and construct dual occupancy project delivering two substantial four-bedroom residences, each approximately 36 squares.

The brief was to make good use of the block while creating two genuinely spacious family homes. MJS Construction Group managed the town planning design, building permit drawings and construction, giving the client one team across the key stages of the project.

Each residence includes four bedrooms, with a guest bedroom on the ground floor, open-plan living and dining, a pantry, laundry and double garage. The 2700 mm ceilings add to the sense of space throughout the homes and suit the generous proportions of the floorplans.

The external design combines brick and render to the ground floor with lightweight render and cladding to the first floor, creating a clean contemporary finish.

Inside, the specification includes timber flooring and timber stairs, laminate kitchen cabinetry, stone benchtops, joinery to the kitchen, laundry and wet areas, selected wall-height tiling, double-glazed windows and Smeg appliances.

The project also included the driveways and landscaping, allowing the complete development to be delivered as part of the construction scope.

Completed in 48 weeks, 18 Maroo Street is a strong example of a dual occupancy project planned around space, practical family living and a consistent level of finish across both homes.
